So here I want to make you known how to activate your email on your mobile phone through email inbox.

Most of the mobile phones have "email" mentioned in the message box.

Go to your message > email (somewhere "email inbox")

give your email address

it will automatically search the email settings .

during this operation be sure that you are connected with internet with GPRS or WiFi connection.

if your connection is not found you need to setup it manually. The things needed to be setup are POP Server, SMTP server, Port Etc.

After you got done with setup go to connect mailbox then you will be logged in to your email account via email inbox.

In case of NOKIA it shows @ sign when you are logged in

Worse, you might lose your connection entirely in some parts of your home. If you want to boost the signal for your wireless network (WLAN), try some of these tips for extending your wireless range and improving your wireless network speed and performance.

1. Position your wireless router, modem router, or access point in a central location

When possible, place your wireless router, wireless modem router (a DSL or cable modem with a built-in wireless router), or wireless access point (WAP) in a central location in your home. If your wireless router, modem router, or access point is against an outside wall of your home, the signal will be weak on the other side of your home. If your router is on the first floor and your PC or laptop is on the second floor, place the router high on a shelf in the room where it is located. Don't worry if you can't move your wireless router, because there are many other ways to improve your connection.

2. Move the router off the floor and away from walls and metal objects (such as metal file cabinets)

Metal objects, walls, and floors will interfere with your router's wireless signals. The closer your router is to these obstructions, the more severe the interference, and the weaker your connection will be.

3. Replace your router's antenna

The antennas supplied with your router are designed to be omnidirectional, meaning that they broadcast in all directions around the router. If your router is near an outside wall, half of the wireless signals will be sent outside your home, and much of your router's power will be wasted. Most routers don't allow you to increase the power output, but you can make better use of the power. If your router’s antenna is removable, you can upgrade to a high-gain antenna that focuses the wireless signals in only one direction. You can even aim the signal in the direction you need it most.

4. Replace your laptop's wireless PC card-based network adapter

Laptops with built-in wireless networking capability typically have excellent antennas and don't need to have their network adapters upgraded. These tips are for laptops that do not have built-in wireless networking.

Wireless network signals must be sent both to and from your computer. Sometimes your router can broadcast strongly enough to reach your computer, but your computer can't send signals back to your router. To improve this, replace your laptop's PC card-based wireless network adapter with a USB wireless network adapter that uses an external antenna.

5. Add a wireless repeater

Wireless repeaters extend your wireless network range without requiring you to add any wiring. Just place the wireless repeater halfway between your wireless router, modem router, or access point and your computer, and you can get an instant boost to your wireless signal strength.

6. Change your wireless channel

Wireless routers can broadcast on several different channels, similar to the way radio stations use different channels. In the United States and Canada, these channels are 1, 6, and 11. Just as you'll sometimes hear interference on one radio station while another is perfectly clear, sometimes one wireless channel is clearer than others. Try changing your wireless router's channel through your router's configuration page to see if your signal strength improves. You don't need to change your computer's configuration, because it can automatically detect the new channel.

To find your router configuration page, consult this quick reference table, which shows the default addresses for common router manufacturers. If the address is not listed here, read the documentation that came with your router, or visit the manufacturer's webpage.

7. Reduce wireless interference

The most common wireless technology, 802.11g (wireless-G), operates at a frequency of 2.4 gigahertz (GHz). Many cordless phones, microwave ovens, baby monitors, garage door openers, and other wireless electronics also use this frequency. If you use these wireless devices in your home, your computer might not be able to "hear" your router over the noise coming from them.

If your network uses wireless-G, you can quiet the noise by avoiding wireless electronics that use the 2.4 GHz frequency. Instead, look for cordless phones and other devices that use the 5.8 GHz or 900 megahertz (MHz) frequencies. Because 802.11n (wireless-N) operates at both 2.4 GHz and the less frequently used 5.0 GHz frequency, you may experience less interference on your network if you use this technology.

8. Update your firmware or your network adapter driver

Router manufacturers regularly make free improvements to their routers. Sometimes, these improvements increase performance. To get the latest firmware updates for your router, visit your router manufacturer's website.

Similarly, network adapter vendors occasionally update the software that Windows uses to communicate with your network adapter, known as the driver. These updates typically improve performance and reliability.

9. Pick equipment from a single vendor

Although a Linksys router will work with a D-Link network adapter, you often get better performance if you pick a router and network adapter from the same vendor. Some vendors offer a performance boost of up to twice the performance when you choose their hardware (like their USB wireless network adapters). Linksys has the SpeedBooster technology for its wireless-G devices, and D-Link has the 108G enhancement for its wireless-G devices. These enhancements can be helpful if you have wireless-G devices and you need to transmit over a long distance or you live in an older house (old walls tend to block the signal more than newly built ones do).

If speeding up your connection is important to you, consider the next tip—upgrading your wireless technology.

10. Upgrade 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g devices to 802.11n

Although wireless-G (802.11g) may be the most common type of wireless network, wireless-N (802.11n) is at least twice as fast and it has better range and stability. Wireless-N is backward-compatible with 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g, so you can still use any existing wireless equipment that you have—though you won’t see much improvement in performance until you upgrade your computer or network adapter to wireless-G, too.

If you're using wireless-B or wireless-G and you're unhappy with your network’s speed and performance, consider replacing your router and network adapters with wireless-N equipment. If you're buying new equipment, definitely choose wireless-N.

Wireless networks never reach the theoretical bandwidth limits. Wireless-B networks typically get 2–5 megabits per second (Mbps). Wireless-G networks are usually in the 13–23 Mbps range. The average everyday speed for wireless-N equipment is about 50 Mbps.

P.S. Don’t forget—the security of your wireless network is as important as its speed and performance.

Its accessible with a wireless-ready mobile PC, such as a laptop, netbook, smartphone, or any other mobile device equipped with a wireless card. Wireless hot spots range from paid services to free public connections. Hot spots are everywhere, including coffee shops, restaurants, libraries, bookstores, airports, trains, and hotel lobbies.

One question arises though; “Are Wi-Fi hot spots safe?”

Public hot spots all have one thing in common—they are open networks that are vulnerable to security breaches. Because they do not encrypt data, your passwords, email messages, and other information can be visible to hackers. That means it's up to you to be aware of wireless hot spot security and to protect the data on your PC or mobile device.

Below are the few Internet security tips to make working on wireless networks in public locations more secure:

1. Disable your Wi-Fi adapter

When you’re not at home or at work, it’s a good idea to turn off your laptop or notebook’s Wi-Fi capability when you’re not using it. Otherwise your computer might connect to a malicious hot spot without your realizing it.

2. Try to choose more secure connections

Use a virtual private network (VPN)

It's not always possible to choose your connection type, but Internet security is critical. When you can, opt for wireless networks that require a network security key or have some other form of security, such as a certificate. The information sent over these networks is encrypted, and encryption can help protect your computer from unauthorized access. For example, instead of using a public hot spot with no encryption, use a virtual private network (VPN). If your business does not have its own VPN, you can download and install free VPN software. The security features of the different available networks appear along with the network name as your PC discovers them.

Protect your email with https

One way to protect your email messages in public is to select the https or other secure connection option in your email account settings (if your email provider supplies one). This option may be called always use https, more secure connection, or something similar. Even if the email provider you use has a secure network, after you log on to your account on a public network, your information is no longer encrypted unless you use a more secure connection. An https connection, for example, which includes encryption, is more secure than an http connection.

3. Make sure your firewall is activated

A firewall helps protect your PC by preventing unauthorized users from gaining access to your computer through the Internet or a network. It acts as a barrier that checks all incoming information and then either blocks the information or allows it to come through. All Windows operating systems come with a firewall, and you can make sure it's turned on.

Note: Some antivirus software includes its own firewall. If your antivirus has a firewall and it is turned on, you do not need to turn on Windows Firewall. Having two firewalls turned on is not recommended.

4. Monitor your access points

Chances are that there are multiple wireless networks anywhere you're trying to connect. These connections are all access points, because they link into the wired system that gives you Internet access. So how do you make sure you're connecting to the right one? Simple—by configuring your PC to let you approve access points before you connect.

5. Disable file and printer sharing

File and printer sharing is a feature that enables other computers on a network to access resources on your computer. When you are using your mobile PC in a hot spot, it's best to disable file and printer sharing—when it's enabled, it leaves your computer vulnerable to hackers. Remember, though, to turn this feature back on when you return to the office.

6. Make your folders private

When the folders on your mobile PC are private, it's more difficult for hackers to access your files.

7. Encrypt your files

You can protect your files further by encrypting them, which requires a password to open or modify them. Because you must perform this procedure on one file at a time, consider password-protecting only the files that you plan to use while working in a public place.

8. Consider removing sensitive data from your portable computer

If you're working with extremely sensitive data, it might be worth taking it off your portable computer altogether. Instead, save it on a corporate network share or on a password-protected site, such as Windows Live SkyDrive, and access it only when necessary. This way, you have multiple safeguards in place.

A few simple precautions can help make working in public places more secure. By selecting the best wireless Internet connections and adjusting settings, you can enjoy more productive and safer work sessions—no matter where you are.

Source: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/remotely/hotspots.aspx

Forgot your windows password?? ..not a big deal

Forgetting your windows password is really frustrating. You try and try but then.. nothing comes up, while you get stuck in the welcome screen!!

Good thing is, its not that big a problem. Here are some simple things you can try in such case:

When you are at the logon screen click CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Under the username put the word "Administrator" and put nothing under password. Most likely this will work, since there is a secret administrators account in every computer. If by any chance this does not work follow following steps:

Reboot the computer into Safe Mode.

When logging into Safe Mode you should be prompted with an option to what account you wish to use. Select the Administrator account. If prompted for a password try pressing Enter on the keyboard for no password.

Once you've logged into the Administrator account open Control Panel and User Accounts.

In User Accounts select the account you wish to change the password for, click change password and then enter the new password or click remove the password to remove the password from the account.

Create a password protected folder in Windows 7

In this guide I will show you step by step a very easy way how to create a secure password protected folder in windows 7. You might want to store secret / private files in here that you don’t want anyone else to access. The best thing about this guide is that you don’t need any 3rd party software to do this.
Steps To : How To Create A Password Protected Folder In Windows 7
-Create a folder and give it any name you wish. Double click on the folder and then right click and select “New” > “Text Document” Now rename this file to password.bat and make sure the file extension is .bat and not .bat.txt. Now open the file and copy the below text and then paste it in to the file.

Quote:

cls
@ECHO OFF
title Folder Private
if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK
if NOT EXIST Private goto MDLOCKER
:CONFIRM
echo Are you sure you want to lock the folder(Y/N)
set/p "cho=>"
if %cho%==Y goto LOCK
if %cho%==y goto LOCK
if %cho%==n goto END
if %cho%==N goto END
echo Invalid choice.
goto CONFIRM
:LOCK
ren Private "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
echo Folder locked
goto End
:UNLOCK
echo Enter password to unlock folder
set/p "pass=>"
if NOT %pass%== ENTER YOUR PASSWORD HERE goto FAIL
attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Private
echo Folder Unlocked successfully
goto End
:FAIL
echo Invalid password
goto end
:MDLOCKER
md Private
echo Private created successfully
goto End
:End

Now replace the text ENTER YOUR PASSWORD HERE with a password of your choice. Make sure you don’t forget the password.
-Now double click on the password.bat file and this will create a Private folder. Now copy and paste the files you wish to keep private in to this private folder.
-When you have finished copying the files go back to the password.bat file and double click on it again. You will get prompted. “Are You Sure You Want To Lock The Folder Y/N” Type Y and hit enter. The folder will now disappear. I recommend moving the Password.bat file to someone else on your computer.
-If you want your folder to re-appear move the Password.bat file back in to the folder you created the folder in and double click on the Password.bat file, enter your password and hit enter, your folder will now re-apear.
Warning : How To Create A Password Protected Folder In Windows 7
This script is a very basic script to work out how it works and how to get around it. I would say 80% of IT trained staff will be able to hack this password protected folder, This is why I recommended to move the password.bat file after you have secured your folder.

How To Display A Message At Start Up In Windows 8?

If you want to display a message at Windows Startup in Windows 8 to show any rule or policy to use your PC, then follow these steps:

1 – Open Run by pressing WIN + R button from your keyboard.

Most of the viruses enter into your PC from USB flash drives.

To disable or restrict USB flash drive in your Windows 8 PC then follow these steps:

1 – Open Run by pressing WIN + R button from your computer keyboard.

2 – Then open Registry Editor by tying regedit in the Run Open field and hit Enter.

3 – Then navigate to following locationHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor in the Registry Editor and double click on Usbstor.

4 – Then, in the right pane of Registry Editor, right click on Start and select Modify… from the menu.

5 – After selecting Modify a Dialog box will open. Change the Value Data of Start from 3 to 4 and click OKbutton to save the changes.

6 – Now Reboot your PC to effect the changes.

7 – This Registry tweak will disable the USB ports from your computer for Windows 8 and doesn’t detect any USB device. If you want to enable USB Flash drive again, then repeat the above steps and change the Value Data of Start from 4 to 3 again.

With the arrival of Windows 8, every Windows Lover is trying to explorer new features of Windows 8. Windows 8 has got a new feature to switch between two applications in an instance of time but the ALT+Tab feature to switch between applications is not available in Windows 8.

1 – Go to one of the opened Application.

2 – Take your Mouse to the left corner side of that opened application.

3 – You can see a Small Window at the left corner side which is showing other opened application. Click thatSmall Window and switch to that application.

4 – Similarly when you move to other application, take your Mouse to the left corner side of that application and you can see a Small Window, showing other opened application. Click that Window to switch applications again.

Besides that, the system uses low cost devices, such as Kinect, and it doesn't require special displays for the 3D images.

The interface was created for Project VIDA – Virtual Interactive Distance Learning on Anatomy, which is developed by Interlab-USP in collaboration with LApIS at EACH/USP and LPAI/Senac.

How it works

Fusion4D uses 3D images and a Kinect device to capture the user's skeleton and voice. Therefore, to interact with the system, all you need to do is wear a pair of glasses and start interacting as if the object were in the real world.

The user interacts with the system using speech commands in English. Those commands allow users to select the object and manipulation mode.

Commands:

The "grab" command selects the object and allows users to translate, rotate or scale the object with their hands until the object is released with the "release" command.

The "explode" keyword allows the user to observe the 3D model in details; the "show label" command shows a descriptive label of the objects in the screen, and the "change model" command lets the user to select other models.

Finally, the "time" command allows users to see what the object would look like in the past and future by moving their hands on the timeline. If the user needs help, the "help" keyword shows a list of voice commands.

This week's theme is going to be very loosely based on "Presentations." Today we present a inspirational project that merges the Kinect's 3D gesture recognition with 3D models... (I know, I know, it's a stretch but Roberto emailed us about this project and we give suggestions from the community a much higher posting priority.)

Fusion4D

Fusion4D is an innovative 3D user interface that lets users interact with 3D objects as if the objects were in their hands, allowing them to move, rotate and scale the objects, explode them into its parts, and even navigate in time to see what the objects will look like in the past and future.

Fusion4D is simple to use: the user only has to wear the 3D glasses and use speech commands and hand gestures to manipulate the objects. Because using Kinect and gestures to control your PowerPoint presentations!

Do first of all, how Kinect? Let's see some basic concepts on the operation of Kinect.

It is a device that combines a RGB camera (2), depth (1 and 3) sensor and an array of microphones at the bottom. The camera RGB is for the recognition of the three basic colors and is what gives us images, lRGB camera has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels which not yet allows it to detect fingers, but we hope that in future versions of increase this resolution and we have many more possibilities. El depth sensor that allows to see a room in 3D, emits infrared rays which marks deep lines, this allows to calculate the time it takes to bounce the light beam and return to the device to calculate the distance to the identified object. The array of microphones detects voices and isolated them from ambient noise, the array is synchronized with the console to remove the sound of the games.

...

New PowerPoint with Kinect

Source: Microsoft Research

Create Your Own Windows Phone Apps With An Ease

Are you like me and want to get into having your own app?
While surfing the web, there are times when you accidentally close some or all the browser tabs and may want to restore them at a later point of time. If you are using Internet Explorer 9 and want to quickly reopen the last closed websites or tabs, here are the steps you have to follow:

Open Internet Explorer and enable viewing of the Command Bar.

Now click Tools > Reopen last browsing session and you are done.

This will automatically resume the websites or browser tabs that were active during the last browsing session. It’s a great way to open the same websites from the last time you used IE.

Note: If you have cleared your browsing history and deleted all the temporary internet files, you may not be able to restore the last browsing session in Internet Explorer 9.

Another way to resume browsing session in Internet Explorer9 is to open a new browser tab and click “Reopen closed tabs” or “Reopen last session” from the bottom of the page.
Sometimes, you need to change the size of the text/font in Internet Explorer 9 because the text is bit small to read or it is way too large. So, you can make webpages easier to read by changing the text size.

You have to go to the Page menu in Command Bar, click Zoom and then select the zooming percentage you like. This will zoom the whole page including text and images. You can also use the Ctrl + or Ctrl - shortcut keys to Zoom in or out from the webpage and Ctrl + Zero to get back to default setting.

The PlayStation 2 (PS2) is a sixth-generation video game console manufactured by Sony as part of the PlayStation series. Its development was announced in March 1999 and it was first released on March 4, 2000, in Japan. Its primary competitors were Sega'sDreamcast, Microsoft's Xbox, and Nintendo's GameCube.

The PlayStation 2 is the best-selling console of all time, having reached over 150 million units sold as of January 31, 2011. This milestone was reached 10 years and 11 months after the system was released in Japan on March 4, 2000. Further, Sony said it had 10,828 titles available for the system and that 1.52 billion PS2 titles had been sold since launch. In late 2009, with developers creating new games and the console still selling steadily a decade after its original release, Sony stated that the life cycle of the PlayStation 2 will continue until demand ceases. The console was succeeded by the PlayStation 3 in 2006.

The PlayStation 2's DualShock 2 controller is largely identical to the PlayStation's DualShock, with the same basic functionality; however, it includes analog pressure sensitivity on the face, shoulder and D-pad buttons, is lighter and includes two more levels of vibration.

Optional hardware includes DualShock or DualShock 2 controllers, a PS2 DVD remote control, an internal or external hard disk drive (HDD), a network adapter, horizontal and vertical stands, PlayStation or PS2 memory cards, light guns (GunCon), fishing rod and reel controllers. Also available are various cables and interconnects, including the Multitap for PlayStation or PS2, S-Video, RGB, SCART, VGA (for progressive scan games and PS2 Linux only), component and composite video cables, an RF modulator, a USB camera (EyeToy), dance pads for Dance Dance Revolution, In the Groove, and Pump It Up titles, Konami microphones for use with the Karaoke Revolution games, dual microphones(sold with and used exclusively for SingStar games), various "guitar" controllers (for the Guitar Freaks series and Guitar Hero series), the drum set controller (sold in a box set (or by itself) with a "guitar" controller and a USB microphone (for use with Rock Band and Guitar Hero series(World Tour and newer)), Onimusha 3 katana controller, Resident Evil 4 chainsaw controller, a USB keyboard and mouse, and a headset. Early versions of the PS2 could be networked via an iLink port, though this had little game support and was dropped. The original PS2 multitap cannot be plugged into the newer slim models (as the multitap connects to the memory card slot as well as the controller slot and the memory card slot on the slimline is shallower). New slim-design multitaps are manufactured for these models, however third-party adapters also exist to permit original multitaps to be used. Some third party manufacturers have created devices that allow disabled people to access the PS2 through ordinary switches etc. One such device is the PS2-SAP from LEPMIS, another is for example the JPemulator.

Mouse Function

Unlike the PlayStation, which required the use of an official Sony PlayStation Mouse to play mouse-compatible games, the few PS2 games with mouse support work with a standard USB mouse as well as a USB Trackball.

USB Mouse compatible games – Age of Empires II, Armored Core 2, Armored Core 3, ATV Quad Power Racing 2, Deus Ex, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers, Final Fantasy XI, Half-Life, Myst III: Exile, Red Faction 2, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: Dead Aim, Sky Odyssey, Soldier of Fortune: Gold Edition, Star Trek Elite Force, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, Unreal Tournament.

The official PS2 Linux kit also uses the USB mouse and keyboard.

Additionally, a mouse that emulates the right analog stick of a standard controller, the EdgeFX, was manufactured by SplitFish, allowing non-mouse-compatible games to be played with a mouse.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Redmond, Washington, United States that develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a wide range of products and services predominantly related to computing through its various product divisions. Established on April 4, 1975 to develop and sell BASIC interpreters for the Altair 8800, Microsoft rose to dominate the home computer operating system market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s, followed by the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems.

Microsoft would also come to dominate the office suite market with Microsoft Office. The company has diversified in recent years into the video game industry with theXbox and its successor, the Xbox 360 as well as into the consumer electronics and digital services market with Zune, MSN and the Windows Phone OS. The ensuing rise of stock in the company's 1986 initial public offering (IPO) made an estimated three billionaires and 12,000 millionaires from Microsoft employees (Forbes 400 list revealed that in March 2011 both Jon Shipley and Nathan Myhrvold lost their billionaire status). In May 2011, Microsoft Corporation acquired Skype Communications for $8.5 billion.

Primarily in the 1990s, critics contend Microsoft used monopolistic business practices and anti-competitive strategies including refusal to deal and tying, put unreasonable restrictions in the use of its software, and used unrepresentative marketing tactics; both the U.S. Department of Justice and European Commission found the company in violation of antitrust laws.[citation needed] Known for its interviewing process with obscure questions, various studies and ratings were generally favorable to Microsoft's diversity within the company as well as its overall environmental impact with the exception of the electronics portion of the business.

Technical reference for developers and articles for various Microsoft magazines such as Microsoft Systems Journal (or MSJ) are available through the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN). MSDN also offers subscriptions for companies and individuals, and the more expensive subscriptions usually offer access to pre-release beta versions of Microsoft software. In April 2004 Microsoft launched a community site for developers and users, titled Channel9, that provides a wiki and an Internet forum. Another community site that provides daily videocasts and other services, On10.net, launched on March 3, 2006. Free technical support is traditionally provided through online Usenet newsgroups, and CompuServe in the past, monitored by Microsoft employees; there can be several newsgroups for a single product. Helpful people can be elected by peers or Microsoft employees for Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) status, which entitles them to a sort of special social status and possibilities for awards and other benefits.

Noted for its internal lexicon, the expression "eating our own dog food" is used to describe the policy of using prerelease and beta versions of products inside Microsoft in an effort to test them in "real-world" situations. This is usually shortened to just "dog food" and is used as noun, verb, and adjective. Another bit of jargon, FYIFV or FYIV ("F**k You, I'm [Fully] Vested"), is used by an employee to indicate they arefinancially independent and can avoid work anytime they wish. The company is also known for its hiring process, mimicked in other organizations and dubbed the "Microsoft interview", which is notorious for off-the-wall questions such as "Why is a manhole cover round?".

Microsoft is an outspoken opponent of the cap on H1B visas, which allow companies in the U.S. to employ certain foreign workers. Bill Gates claims the cap on H1B visas makes it difficult to hire employees for the company, stating "I'd certainly get rid of the H1B cap" in 2005. Critics of H1B visas argue that relaxing the limits would result in increased unemployment for U.S. citizens due to H1B workers working for lower salaries. The Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index, a report of how progressive the organization deems company policies towards LGBT (***, gay, bisexual and transsexual) employees, rated Microsoft as 87% from 2002 to 2004 and as 100% from 2005 to 2010 after they allowed gender expression.
