Session 8: Adding Client Computer in Server.

It has been a long that I had my last blogging….and firstly I would like to ask apology with all my blog readers that I suddenly get disappeared…anyway it took me a bit long time but I just got some time to get return back to this place again.

Let’s have something for today’s blog….here continuing the community blog I am here for Session 8. Hope I can give you some interesting thing more in this session. Here in this Session I am trying to focus on adding the host devices or client devices in my server so that I can configure my remote client through sitting in my server without any obstacles. I hope during our last session we have already completed how to make your nameserver. As usual I would like to go through a lot of pictures here. So you can add domain to you client machine in two ways.

METHOD:I

1. As we have already worked in server and made it Active Directory….now let us make work on Client Operating System….here I have choose the Windows 7 as a client Operating System. Since Windows 7 get best Sync with Windows Server 2008/2008 R2.

2. Now lets get in the Network Configuration of Windows 7 and configure my Machine. Here you can set the IP as Obtain an IP address automatically or else you can give static IP but it should be of same network. And in case of DNS you should provide the IP of your server….like we have done this before in Server While trying to make it Domain Controller.

3. After Completion of configuring network. Go to the properties of My Computer as shown in this Screen Shot Below.

Windows 7-2010-03-21-10-51-28Windows 7-2010-03-21-10-53-59

4. Click on Advance System Setting on the Left Panel of Properties. A System Properties Windows get Prompt. Click on Computer Name Tab and Click on the Change Button over there. Here we are going to join the Client Computer with our Domain so as in the Snap you can see the option Member of…get select on Domain and give the name of you domain.(like in my case it is aerrow.com). Then click on Ok.

Windows 7-2010-03-21-10-52-21

5. As soon as you click on OK first it verifies that you connection the Domain is Valid or not…then a Windows Security get prompt where you have give you administrator as username and the password of the administrator to get add your device or computer in you Domain.

Windows 7-2010-03-21-10-52-44

6. So finally you get the prompt Welcome to the domain, and Just get restart your Client Operating System.

METHOD:II

Windows 7-2010-03-21-10-54-04

2.Select the Option that describe your Network.

Windows 7-2010-03-21-10-54-09

3. As my company uses the Domain I select the first Option here…and I hope you too like to join in domain so I prefer you to select the first Option to get add in Domain.

Windows 7-2010-03-21-10-54-15

Here is the Procedure that how get add your user in the Domain.

1. Click on Start Menu—>Administrative Tools—>Active Directory Users and Computer

3. So as we are in the progress of adding new user in the Active Directory so we move toward the Users Container. Make Right Click—> New—>Users.

Windows Server 2008-2010-03-21-10-59-34

As here in the Client side you can see  a new page while getting login. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.

As you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE the login page comes with the option that you want to login with Domain user or Local Computer Users.

As I select the Domain User the following Screen get Prompt where you can login by Domain account.

Windows 7-2010-03-21-11-02-06Windows 7-2010-03-21-11-04-25
