Implementing DC-AD on my college and had also shared the solved issue
with you all through this blog. Similarly this time also here I have

was almost corner of the deployment and about to wrap up the project

able to get it, But just got a clue of the Issue.

But I couldn’t leave my old email ID too, coz It do have a lot of contents, a lot of emails that were important to me and the worst part was it was around 12 years old Email ID that I was using previously. It seems like a lot of pain to me. But somehow I need to change my Emails and transfer all my Email from old live ID to the new one. Due to my certain personal works and busyness I was not able to continue it. Although I have prepared this Content a month ago, Finally I am able to give it finishing Touch. Hope all the reader will enjoy this content.

My today’s topic is Windows Deployment Services (WDS). Windows Deployment Services helps us to deploy any of the Operating system to the number of Machine and allow to install on it at once. you don’t need to create a individual CD/DVD or wait any of the machine to complete the Installation to re-use the CD/DVD to another machine for the Installation of OS. This is one of the most time saving process added on the server. You can just activate some roles and then deploy the OS to the 100’s of Computers by sitting on your chair. Rather then words here I have tried to get snaps of all the steps which is mandatory to do.

1. This is the screen of my Windows Server 2008 R2.

2. Here I go to Server Manager on my desktop.

3. Here I go to the Roles and Add new Roles to on machine.

4. Here I do select 2 Roles one DHCP and another is WDS. To deploy WDS your Server machine should also be DHCP Server. Only which is able to Provide IP’s to the new machines and I hope you guys knows that IP is the identity of the machine (Volatile).

5. Now I select both the roles of the WDS as on the screen.

6. Here IP of my server is selected.

7. Here I do specify my Domain and DNS of my domain.

8. As I am not using WINS I just selected not required.

9. Now Here comes the screen to define the scope, where I do click on ADD button to get add new scope.

10. Here I Define the Scope name, Pooling IP’s and it’s Subnet Mask.

11. As I am not using IP V6 I just Disabled it so that it may not get interference with my other IP’s

12. Used my Current Credentials.

13. And now I just Install all the Configure Role of DHCP and WDS on my Machine.

14. Now here I open the DHCP from the Administrative Tool Present on my Start Menu and check whether it is running well or not. if there appears green Play then it is working well else you do have some problem with it. so try to get fix that problem first.

15. Before I check the Configuration of WDS I just copy the Install.wim and Boot.wim on my desktop inside the folder test. You can easily find these files for Windows 7 and Windows Server on it’s DVD..you can just go to path of ‘Sources’ where you find these two files. For XP you need to create one.

16. After copying Install.wim and Boot.wim I just go to the WDS of my machine, and start to configure it.

17. Make a left click on the server with exclamation mark and select the configure the WDS.

18.Click on Next.

19. It does not recommend you to have RemoteInstall file on C Drive but as this is my test machine I just do accept it on C drive.

20. Here I define port 60 for PXE Client. which is the facility on NIC to get boot from Network.

Some slides of the Intel Internal presentation has been leaked in which it confirms the introduction of the LGA 1366 Corei7-995X Extreme Edition CPU, as well as that of several other Sandy Bridge Processors.

It has been expected that 995X will be lunched on the 3rd Quarter of 2011 and it's place in the extreme performance market will be quickly taken over by Sandy Bridge-E processors.

It says that these will also replace the company's current premium performance solution and will coexist together with speedier Corei7-2600CPUs for while until it has been replaces by the Ivy Bridge-based Models. It has been expected to happen sometime in the first half of 2012, where Ivy Bridge will replace the company current mainstream Chips.

It is also said that Sandy Bridge process will continue to live on the first quarter of 2012, unlike the performance sector where it's place will be quickly taken by Ivy Bridge

Also there has been rumor that at starting of last quarter Intel will lunch quite a few new chips, including faster Version of its current Core i3 and future Sandy Bridge Pentium Processors.

Happy New Year…

Genuine Windows 7 got Pirated….:0

This blog is to the people who do have a query regarding to the windows 7 genuine issues.
I have found a lot of people saying that suddenly their Windows 7 OS actually with the peoples who has upgraded their system to the SP1 has started to give the message that their system is not genuine.”Your Computer might not be running a counterfeit copy of Windows.” and along with this your desktop goes black, with the message in you right bottom of screen saying “This Copy of Windows is not Genuine.” First this message too made me shock then after a quite study I found that there was some issue regarding to the registry and Group Policy Objects. But some one I rescued my system.

Cause:

Actually this problem occurs when there is a lack of permissions on a registry key "HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20". By default, System, Network Service and Administrator accounts have "Full Control" and "Read" permissions on this registry key. But sometimes "Network Service" doesn't have proper permissions on this registry key and you face this problem. This may be the result of applying a Plug and Play Group Policy object (GPO). The Licensing service uses Plug and Play to obtain your system hardware ID information and binds the license to the computer. By default, it doesn't have proper permissions to access Plug and Play service.

Debug:

To get overcome this type of problem there are two methods.

Method 1:

1. Go to Run Type “rsop.msc” and press enter.
2. Now go to the Navigation panel to Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/ Security Settings/System Services.
3. Now check the “Plug and Play” Services on the Right Panel and Check it’s Start type also. It should be set to “Not Defined”. if it is not so then Double click on it and set it’s Startup type to “Automatic”.

Method 2:

1. Go to Run Type “Regedit” and press enter
2. Now go to the Following key:
    HKEY-USERS\S-1-5-20
3. Right-click on “S-1-5-20” Key and Select ‘Permissions….”. it’ll open a new window.
4. Select “NETWORK SERVICE” in user list and check “Allow” box given for “Full Control” permission. Click on OK Button to apply the changes.

It is currently available as a Public Beta Version, released on September 15, 2010.

IE9 supports all CSS 3 selectors, improved Java Script performance, and embedded ICC v2 or v4 color profiles support via Windows Color System. It also features hardware-accelerated graphics rendering using Direct2D, hardware accelerated text rendering using Direct write, hardware accelerated video rendering using Media Foundation, imaging support provided by Windows Imaging Component, and high fidelity printing powered by the XPS print pipeline.

IE9 also supports the HTML5 video and audio tags and the Format. Some industry experts claim that Microsoft will release IE9 as a major out-of-band version that is not tied to any particular version of Windows.

New User Interface

The first thing we’ll discover is the absence of toolbars, the minimalist buttons, the super-thin menu bar, the combined search and address bar: it’s become very clean and simple.

A thin menu bar is one thing, a nice aesthetic; but, like a double rainbow. Well, this is the first of many times you’ll notice that IE9’s most important feature is that it gives the greatest prominence to the sites you visit most. Also, IE9 delivers an awesome tab experience. They can now be torn off and split easily, while Windows Snap lets you position them easily on your screen. Simply drag a tab off and drop it anywhere on your screen to give it its own window. Now you can drag one window to each side of your screen and Windows Snap will automatically resize them to sit nicely side by side. You can also snap a window on to a second monitor or into another IE9 instance.

Additionally, clicking on the new tab button will present you with an empty tab featuring your most visited sites, ordered by frequency of visit. Again, IE9 is putting your favorite sites front-row center.

One Box

The Next Major enhancement that you’ll be noticing that the search box and address bar is now combined into one. Microsoft calls this ONEBOX. Not only have that with the help of ONEBOX suggestion and Bing you can type weathered [city name] just to generate instant updates on the weather in your city or any other else.

Notification Bar

In the Previous IE’s there always use to comes the dialogue box for a download, pop-up windows attempt, security warning, password saving, or so on…. Now in IE 9 this is done by super discreet Notification Bar. The bar remains on the bottom of the current pages until you’ve responded to the notification. Also you can continue to use the site and respond when you’re ready.

As an added bonus, you’ll see that when you run several downloads you can open up the download manager for a consolidated view of your entire download. You can pause and resume selected downloads at will.

Performance: More than Meets the Eye

The IE team has posted a great deal on their blog about the breadth of considerations in implementing a high-performing browser. They cover everything from JavaScript benchmarks, common benchmark scope, multiple subsystems in building a page, and how a page is really composed.

I wanted to highlight some common considerations in performance. One of the more popular benchmarks measures pure JavaScript grunt.

It turns out the IE9 beta handles its own, leaving the gap between the fastest JavaScript engine and IE9’s Chakra engine at less than 100ms.

On the Browser Help Desk

In my experience, the number one cause of poor general browser performance is plugins and add-ons. Often, when a browser takes too long to load, or hangs on a page, you can point to a plugin, add-on, or toolbar. I’m not saying add-ons should be avoided, but they do need to be watched, particularly if you want to optimize for fast load times.

IE9 gives you two ways of ensuring you’re unimpaired by slow add-ons.

First, if an add-on is noticeably slowing load times, IE9 will fire off a notification via the Notification Bar. This will politely inform you that you may want to check your add-on load times.

Site Pinning

Another Site Pinning… till now we have only heard the pinning of the application on my taskbar. To make the daily task do fast. Now the IE 9 has provided us the facility of pinning our favorite sites pinning on our task bar…i.e. Putting your favorite sites on visit front-row center.

Site Pinning is the ability to drag a site onto the Windows 7 taskbar and have it at your disposal whenever you need it, as if it were a Windows app.

That’s it. Just grab the favicon from the ONEBOX (that’s the address bar for you old IE’s), and drop it onto your taskbar, and you have a pinned site. Now next thing you will notice that even when you browser is closed, the icon stays on your taskbar as the application does. The awesome thing is Pinned sited item only not remain on our taskbar but also it gives number of notification that you are getting on your social network site….for e.g. if you have pinned the twitter on your taskbar you can see how many tweets has been followed.

InPrivate Browsing

InPrivate Browsing was first introduced on IE 8 and inheriting the facility of the previous browser IE 9 also continues to provide the Inprivate browsing. Anonymity when browsing the Web can be important for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you are concerned that your sensitive data may be left behind in temporary files such as cookies, or maybe you just do not want anyone to know where you have been.

No matter what your motive for privacy might be, IE9's InPrivate Browsing may be exactly what you are looking for. While utilizing InPrivate Browsing, cookies and other files are not saved on your hard drive. Even better, your entire browsing and search history is automatically wiped out. This makes the user using the IE on home with the secured data can automatically wipe out the trace of visiting those sites, as well the this facility can be used on the cyber by the user to create awareness against the cookies sniffing.

Windows Live Family Safety

Windows live Family Safety is the package of the application that we get in Windows live Essentials. Windows Live Family Safety (previously Windows Live OneCare Family Safety), developed by Microsoft, is free parental content-control software for Microsoft Windows under the Windows Live brand. The program, which is roughly similar to Windows Vista's parental control feature, allows users to set guidelines and restrictions for children browsing the internet and allows parents to monitor their children's web activities. For e.g. by enabling the family safety parent can block all the porn sites that may affect the children.

Session 8: Adding Client Computer in Server.

It has been a long that I had my last blogging….and firstly I would like to ask apology with all my blog readers that I suddenly get disappeared…anyway it took me a bit long time but I just got some time to get return back to this place again.

Let’s have something for today’s blog….here continuing the community blog I am here for Session 8. Hope I can give you some interesting thing more in this session. Here in this Session I am trying to focus on adding the host devices or client devices in my server so that I can configure my remote client through sitting in my server without any obstacles. I hope during our last session we have already completed how to make your nameserver. As usual I would like to go through a lot of pictures here. So you can add domain to you client machine in two ways.

METHOD:I

1. As we have already worked in server and made it Active Directory….now let us make work on Client Operating System….here I have choose the Windows 7 as a client Operating System. Since Windows 7 get best Sync with Windows Server 2008/2008 R2.

2. Now lets get in the Network Configuration of Windows 7 and configure my Machine. Here you can set the IP as Obtain an IP address automatically or else you can give static IP but it should be of same network. And in case of DNS you should provide the IP of your server….like we have done this before in Server While trying to make it Domain Controller.

3. After Completion of configuring network. Go to the properties of My Computer as shown in this Screen Shot Below.

4. This is because a lot of new feature on office 2010 and they are feeling uneasy to adopt with the newer technology……the condition is like…they are not able to throw the old technology coz they are master of it and they need new technology but they are not able to adopt it completely. So the people wishes to keep both of them…

Here going through the different website I found the solution and trying to share on my blog.

To installing of both version of Office, Office 2010 and Office 2007 or even Office 2003 or Office XP side by side together in parallel, Office 2010 has to be installed different directory or folder, so that existing Office 2007 program files don’t get overwritten. To do so use the following trick to install Office 2010 in addition to Office 2007 so that both applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, OneNote, SharePoint and etc can be run simultaneously and concurrently.

1. Run Office 2010 installation wizard. Select Customize when prompted to choose the preferred type of Office 2010 installation of either “Upgrade” or “Customize”.

2. Click Browse and select another installation folder path for Office 2010 which is not the same with existing Office installation path. For example, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 2010\.

3. The setup will install Office 2010 and retain Office 2007 and any other older versions of Office apps

Note: Once Office 2010 is installed, the default program for Office documents, spreadsheets, presentations and other files will be defaulted to Office 2010, but it can be changed manually in Control Panel. A simpler way is to re-run Office 2007 Setup.exe setup wizard, and allow it to repair Office 2007 installation.

Also note that although both Office 2010 and Office 2007 can exist parallel, Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 apparently not. Only one version of Outlook can be installed at any time. Thus, Outlook 2007 will be uninstalled and leaving only Outlook 2010.

Also for those End-User who want to install Office 2010 without uninstalling the Office 2007, I do have a better solution. here you can download config.MSP for installing Office 2010 without uninstalling or removing Office 2007.

To use the config.MSP to install Office 2007 and keep Office 2007 side by side (not uninstalling Office 2007), copy the downloaded config.MSP to the folder that contains Setup.exe and other installation files for Office 2010, and the run the following command in that folder in an elevated command prompt window (or in Start Search or Run command box).

Unleash the Hidden power of Control Panel in Windows 7.

I have been playing with windows 7 when the pre-beta version of windows 7 had been released. I was so happy to see the different new feature on the windows 7 in respect to the older version of operating system, and performance was awesome…….I too was surprised to learn hidden control panel applets of windows 7 as well in Windows Vista. I didn’t knew it before until I read some article related to regedit on windows7 and Windows Vista. Here sharing my experience on the hidden applets of the control panel in windows 7 and Windows Vista.

There are some hidden applet in the windows 7 and Windows Vista that are default hidden….don’t know why…but some of them are really useful the beginner and expert too. so Here I am providing the tutorial how to access these hidden applet of control panel.

Get to RUN—> type REGEDIT and press Return…….(Ctrl+R gives the run window)

Now go the this branch of the regedit…..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\don’t load

Here the Snapshot of that portion of the Window….just click on the don’t load and see the control panel entries on the ride-side of the pane.

Simple deleting the ‘don’t load’ key will revile all the hidden apps….but there are some apps that already exists on the control panel….and that might be appear double in your control panel…so I suggest you to try with deleting those apps those are not in your control panel. like

hdwwiz.cpl
appwiz.cpl
ncpa.cpl
sysdm.cpl
desk.cpl
joy.cpl
Firewall.cpl
collab.cpl
irprops.cpl
tabletpc.cpl
bthprops.cpl
infocardcpl.cpl

Those were the steps for reveling the hidden apps of control panel in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.it is easily adopted on the Windows vista….but in case of the Windows 7 you have to take a permission as security is upgraded then of vista….you can’t work on this key unless you get permission. Here is the procedure how to get the permission.

Right-click on the "don't load" key and select "Permissions...".

It'll open a dialog box, Click on "Advanced" button.

It'll open another dialog box, Go to "Owner" tab.

Select your Username from the list and click on "Apply" button and then OK.

Again click on OK button in the first dialog box.

Now again right-click on the same key and select "Permissions...".

Select your Username in the list and check the "Allow" option for "Full Control".

Click on Apply button and then OK.

I think you guys will enjoy this trick….

Warning!!!!
NOTE:- Please make the backup of Registry whenever you make tweak on it.

Government CIO's Event

Microsoft MDP Nepal organized Government CEO’s TechMeet, on June 04, 2010 (21 jestha 2067) at Malla hotel lainchaur. But the only disadvantage of that virtual XP mode was that it is only accessible to the hardware or processor which support the Hardware-Assisted Virtualization (HAV) technology i.e. Virtualization. And lot of we have to check whether our processor supports the virtualization or not and also some of we may have got this error also.

But now the time has changed, thanks to the Microsoft research team. Who knew this disadvantage and allowed to run the Virtualization beyond the boundaries. Now I don’t need to have the process which supports the virtualization, But simply I need to have a update of Microsoft KB977206 which is available for Windows 7 systems which will remove this prerequisite and the system would be able to run Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC.

Here you can Download.

Features of Window Live Messenger Wave 4

Windows live Messenger is one of the worlds's most popular messenger beside yahoo..and google chat...around 320 million active users every month sends 10 billion messages to one another everyday.

Rumor on the market has start to come about the Windows live Messenger Wave 4....Yup it is still not available to download but snapshots are features about this Live messenger start to come out. Wi-Fi network…..as it is easy to setup for connection….I don’t have to search wire to connect my laptop….also it makes feel free….i.e. i can use while sitting in bed…watching TV can carry my laptop to roof and chat with my friends…no boundary of the wires….if I say the wire router is static…coz i have stay at same place to play with my internet and Wireless is dynamic…I can use wherever I go on range of my router….but getting wireless router means alert in security of private network also…so no one can sneak in my network and sabotage my files. Here I am sharing 10 tips to make your wireless router secure.

Change Default Administrator Password as well Username.
At the core of most Wi-Fi home networks is an access point of router. To set up these pieces of equipment, manufacturers provide Web pages that allow Owners to enter their network address and account information(like http://192.168.0.1). These Web tools are protected with a login screen i.e. username and password. so that only the rightful owner can do this. However, for any given piece of equipment, the logins provided are simple and very well-known(like some router have default username admin and password also admin) to hackers on the Internet. so Change these Settings immediately.

Turn on (Compatible) WPA /WEP Encryption
All Wi-Fi equipment supports some form of encryption. Encryption technolog scrambles messages sent over wireless networks so that they cannot be easily read by humans. Several encryption technologies exist for Wi-Fi today. Naturally you will want to pcik the strongest form of encryption that works with your wireless network. However, the way these technologies work, all Wi-Fi devices on your network must share the identical encryption settings. Therefore you may need to find a “lowest common demoninator” setting.

Change the Default SSID
Access points and routers all use a network name called the SSID. Manufacturers normally ship their products with the same SSID set. For example, the SSID for Linksys devices is normally "linksys." True, knowing the SSID does not by itself allow your neighbors to break into your network, but it is a start. More importantly, when someone finds a default SSID, they see it is a poorly configured network and are much more likely to attack it. Change the default SSID immediately when configuring wireless security on your network.

Enable MAC Address Filtering
Each piece of Wi-Fi gear possesses a unique identifier called the physical address or MAC address. Access points and routers keep track of the MAC addresses of all devices that connect to them. Many such products offer the owner an option to key in the MAC addresses of their home equipment, that restricts the network to only allow connections from those devices. Do this, but also know that the feature is not so powerful as it may seem. Hackers and their software programs can fake MAC addresses easily.

Disable SSID Broadcast
In Wi-Fi networking, the wireless access point or router typically broadcasts the network name (SSID) over the air at regular intervals. This feature was designed for businesses and mobile hotspots where Wi-Fi clients may roam in and out of range. In the home, this roaming feature is unnecessary, and it increases the likelihood someone will try to log in to your home network. Fortunately, most Wi-Fi access points allow the SSID broadcast feature to be disabled by the network administrator.

Do Not Auto-Connect to Open Wi-Fi Networks
Connecting to an open Wi-Fi network such as a free wireless hotspot or your neighbor's router exposes your computer to security risks. Although not normally enabled, most computers have a setting available allowing these connections to happen automatically without notifying you (the user). This setting should not be enabled except in temporary situations.

Assign Static IP Addresses to Devices
Most home networkers gravitate toward using dynamic IP addresses. DHCP technology is indeed easy to set up. Unfortunately, this convenience also works to the advantage of network attackers, who can easily obtain valid IP addresses from your network's DHCP pool. Turn off DHCP on the router or access point, set a fixed IP address range instead, then configure each connected device to match. Use a private IP address range (like 10.0.0.x) to prevent computers from being directly reached from the Internet.

Enable Firewalls On Each Computer and the Router
Modern network routers contain built-in firewall capability, but the option also exists to disable them. Ensure that your router's firewall is turned on. For extra protection, consider installing and running personal firewall software on each computer connected to the router.

Position the Router or Access Point Safely
Wi-Fi signals normally reach to the exterior of a home. A small amount of signal leakage outdoors is not a problem, but the further this signal reaches, the easier it is for others to detect and exploit. Wi-Fi signals often reach through neighboring homes and into streets, for example. When installing a wireless home network, the position of the access point or router determines its reach. Try to position these devices near the center of the home rather than near windows to minimize leakage.

Turn Off the Network During Extended Periods of Non-Use
The ultimate in wireless security measures, shutting down your network will most certainly prevent outside hackers from breaking in! While impractical to turn off and on the devices frequently, at least consider doing so during travel or extended periods offline. Computer disk drives have been known to suffer from power cycle wear-and-tear, but this is a secondary concern for broadband modems and routers.

If you own a wireless router but are only using it wired (Ethernet) connections, you can also sometimes turn off Wi-Fi on a broadband router without powering down the entire network.
