AWESOME TOOLS FOR MAKING YOUR XP LOOK AND FEEL LIKE WINDOWS 7.

We cannot resist the look and feature of the windows 7 to use it. But there are many user who still don’t want to change their current windows xp to windows 7 due to some compatibility problems of software or developing tools or by the problem that they don’t want to install their application all over again.

So here’s the third party software that make you feel you are using windows 7. But before installing these software please follow the following steps:

  1. go to start
  2. go to all programs
  3. go to accessories
  4. go to system tools
  5. click on system restore to create one.

TOOLS:

  • Adding the superbar in XP using ViGlance:

The superbar minimizes the space taken by each application and grouping similar instances of application as one.You can click on the icon to choose the application from the superbar. ViGlance doesn’t require any installation just run the software and you are done.”Right click on the icons and check options to select animations an other effects.” It gives the fun UI.

  • Adding task switching keys

Another feature of the “superbar” is that it allows you to use combinations such as windows + [1] to open the first menu on the task bar and so on.It cycles through all open instances of the particular application.

To get this functionality, just download the ActivateByNum and run it.It’s a small AutoHotKey script.

  • Splitting windows

Now this is a fascinating feature!! With the windows 7 comes the new set of shortcuts to arrange your open windows . You can “snap” open windows to different edges of your screen, which is helpful if you want to separate your screen on two halves. This is done with windows + left or right keys. Now this software gives you the wide range of shortcuts and options for you layout of the windows too.

  • Shaking off all inactive windows using aero

Another UI improvement in the windows 7 is the aeroshake feature. What it does is simple: shake the active window(the one you are using) and it hides all the inactive windows.Shake it again windows are back to where they are again.   • Skinning your windows

Now for the looks part or the graphics part there are plenty of software or themes to give your xp look like a windows7. After all you need to feel it. Here are few themes each offering special feature.

  • Powertoys from Microsoft

TweakUI is one that allows you to change many features that are generally not available to customize in windows xp. Similarly there’s a power calculator for advanced calculations which beats even windows 7 calculator.
