But the thing to worry is it might  depend on some facts like your network mileage and the model of your phone.But trying these secret codes you might be voiding your mobile warranties with your companies. Still its a great fascinating feature and might be some real tricky thing to work out on it. Regarding the companies there are different codes .

The universal code:

This is the code that indicates you that if your phone is genuine or not. Typing this code will reveal your IMEI(International mobile equipment identity) number and for your mobile phone to be genuine this number should match with the backside number in the battery compartment of the phone and the box in which your phone has come.

 The nokia codes:

Reveals the production serial number, confirmed to work on the series 40 phones,doesn’t work on all series 60.

• *#7780

For this code please proceed with the caution. This code might reset your phone to the default factory setting but useful if you are debugging and are confused if the problem is software setting related or hardware.

Its very useful, tells your current firmware version.In the phone which support OTA(over the air) updating, you can simply update your phone firmware from the option menu that this will bring via GPRS/3G/Wi-Fi without connecting to the pc suite.

Reveals your Bluetooth device address, but some manual configuration is needed for setting up your custom.Bluetooth device or troubleshooting may require this information.

Allows you to check the number where “All calls” is diverted to.

Allows you to check the “call waiting” status of your phone.
