We are blind, dumb and helpless without technology. And Technology has driven us much ahead than those who are still deprived of internet or say knowledge or whatever.

We just bing whatever we have confusion with but everyone might not ,even in these days, get the whole idea what to do if they need softwares , or some hints or assistances. And they wrap themselves in more confusion.

So I have thought to collect every possible URLs that we all know about.

This blog will help me provide my friends, my community and many of others if you simply post the URLs which one need to visit in order to enhance their knowledge.

Some categories will might be : Softwares, Hardwares, e-books . etc.

So please I want every viewers to post dowm the URLs they think that are important to those who are passionate about technology and those who need our guidance initially.

Program in Amity College

I feel proud being MSP, I feel good helping others, and so was the reason for my tour in Jhapa.

Well I thought to conduct a program in Amity College located in Birtamod, Jhapa. The college where one of my best friend Nirmal completed his +2 level.

And he was there helping me in each of my activities. So thank you so much Nirmal for your kind support.

The college is running BBA, +2 programs in Science, Management, and Compueter Science.

And so it was very much effecient for me to conduct Dreamspark program, Workspace officelive bootcamp, and explain the Live mail features like creating groups, working with skydrives,and many more.

And I really fel good inwards for the students were very much happy for the things I explained them. My effort did not go useless.I suffered a lot in the day when I conducted program. As I had to reach the college in bicycle since there was BAND. More, I never knew riding hehe....But it was worthy, I made hundreds of students happy with the program there in college. And I had sore throat the next day as I had to divide 100s of students into three groups....oh my god,,,still remember that pain,,,,

Thank you Microsoft Nepal!

And now the principal is asking me if I can help their college lab with the genuine softwares, lets see if my efforts work and we together can help them.....And I was handed "Letter of Appreciation" which makes me feel proud to see my name following MSP.

Know Bookmarks

In the context of the World Wide Web, a bookmark is a locally stored Uniform Resource Identifier (URI).

All modern web browsers include bookmark features. Bookmarks are called favorites or Internet shortcuts in Internet Explorer, and by virtue of that browser's large market share, these terms have been synonymous with bookmark since the first browser war.

Bookmarks are normally accessed through a menu in the user's web browser, and folders are commonly used for organization. In addition to bookmarking methods within most browsers, many external applications offer bookmark management.

Bookmarks have been incorporated in browsers since the Mosaic browser in 1993.

Bookmark lists were called Hotlists in Mosaic and in previous versions of Opera; this term has faded from common use. Other early web browsers such as ViolaWWW and Cello also had bookmarking features.

With the advent of social bookmarking, shared bookmarks have become a means for users sharing similar interests to pool web resources, or to store their bookmarks in such a way that they are not tied to one specific computer or browser.

Web-based bookmarking services let users save bookmarks on a remote web server, accessible from anywhere.

Newer browsers have expanded the "bookmark" feature to include variations on the concept of saving links.

Mozilla Firefox introduced live bookmarks in 2004, which resemble standard bookmarks but contain a list of links to recent articles supplied by a news site or weblog, which is regularly updated via RSS feeds.

"Bookmarklets" are JavaScript programs stored as bookmarks that can be clicked to perform a function.

7STACKS for Windows 7

There’s a new program called 7Stacks that lets you add stacks of icons to the Windows taskbar (called the “Superbar” in Windows 7) with a software called Alastria Software...

Instead of launching a program when you click the icon with your mouse, you’ll see a list of programs appear in an Aero-style menu.

The software offers handy way to clear up clutter of icons off your desktop while also not using up too much toolbar space.

By using stacks, users can reduce icon clutter, and combine a group of related icons into a single icon. For instance, if you use application suites such as Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, or Adobe CS4, you can have all the suite's icons combined into one icon!Those who want an easy shortcut to their frequently accessed folders and files will like 7Stacks too since you can use it to pin exact folder locations to the taskbar.

You can also use it to browse and access documents within a folder very quickly. Usually, when you want to edit a series of frequently used documents, you'd have to either launch the app, and go to File|Open, or open the (My) Computer icon and go into your (My) Documents folder and pick the file you want. With 7stacks, just create a stack to that document's folder, and open that document in a couple of clicks.

This is different than how Windows 7’s built-in “Libraries” folder icon works. When clicking that icon, which appears next to the Start Menu in Windows 7, Explorer opens. However, your frequently accessed folder locations are available only on right-click.

With 7Stacks, you can create a list of folder locations which pop-up upon a left-click instead.

7Stacks also allows you to configure the stacks in three different formats: normal, grid, and menu.

Normal displays a vertical stack, grid shows a square-shared grid of icons only, and menu is a cascading menu of items with very small icons labeled with text.

Perhaps the nicest thing about 7Stacks, though, is the way it uses the Aero technology for displaying the stacks. This makes it look more like a feature included in Windows 7 itself and not some extra add-on program.

And using Windows 7, its easy to create new stacks by right-clicking on any stack, and selecting "Create New Stack in the Jump List" . 7stacks will place an shortcut icon on your desktop to this new stack, which you can then pin to your Windows 7 taskbar, or Vista or XP QuickLaunch bar.

More features are adding in the software,though its Version 1.1.

No office installed....no problem

You have no Office installed in your system ?

You forgot your thumb drive to carry which had some office files in it??

No problem!

With workspace office live your problem is solved.

Workspace office live is a portal by microsoft with which you can work with your powerpoint, word, pdf(though not by microsoft) and excel files even if you do not have office installed in your system.

you can share the files with your friends or groups in live.

Its live office as it suggests itself.

Its very much useful to those working in projects so that they can share and give permissions to their associates to make ammendments.

What is needed is a live ID.

Many of us are blogging these days , active in forums, active in web development.

Despite visiting the sites, we are still in confusion whether that to be called a WEBSITE or a PORTAL.

Here is the difference....

Website is the one where information sharing is single way. ie. User can only grab the information but he can not share his own and neither he can make his confusions clear if he has any.

Portal is that which the user can grab the knowledge from and share his own knowledge via blogs. Moreover, he can post his confusions in forums so that others can help him clear the confusions . Its a two way learning and sharing process.

Now be sure : Are you in SITE or PORTAL ???

Microsoft Surface???

Microsoft Surface

The technology behind Surface is called multi-touch

-The software giant has built a new touchscreen computer—a coffee table that will change the world

Specialities...

-The technology allows non-digital objects to be used as input devices.

-computer interfaces will be hands-on.One can use his computers with hands and no need of keyboard and mouse.

-Surface has no cables or external USB ports for plugging in peripherals. For that matter, it has no keyboard, no mouse, no trackball — no obvious point of interaction except its screen

-use of fingers to edit digital photos size, upload them, drag them and drop them...

Features...

Microsoft notes four main components being important in Surface's interface:
direct interaction, multi-touch contact, a multi-user experience, and object recognition.

Direct interaction- refers to the user's ability to simply reach out and touch the interface of an application in order to interact with it, without the need for a mouse or keyboard.

Multi-touch contact- refers to the ability to have multiple contact points with an interface, unlike with a mouse, where there is only one cursor.

Multi-user- is a benefit of multi-touch -- several people can orient themselves on different sides of the surface to interact with an application simultaneously.

Object recognition- refers to the device's ability to recognize the presence and orientation of tagged objects placed on top of it.

Learn Groove...

What is Groove?

-a desktop application designed for document

-used as a staging system for documents in development, where content can be worked up then transferred to a portal when complete

Who initiated?

-Groove was initially developed by Lotus Notes creator Ray Ozzie, and developed by Groove Networks of Beverly, Massachusetts

Why?

-collaboration in teams with members who are regularly off-line or who do not share the same network security clearance.

Where?

-where offline access is important

-Groove's uses have included coordination between emergency relief agencies where different organizations do not share a common security infrastructure

amongst teams of knowledge workers, such as consultants who need to work securely on client sites.

Tools in Groove...

-Groove provides various tools that can be added to (and removed from) a workspace to customize the functionality of each space (for example a calendar, discussion, file sharing, an outliner, pictures, notepad, sketchpad, web browser, etc.).

-the SharePoint Files tools which can be used to take Sharepoint 2007 document libraries offline.Groove 2007 includes a presence subsystem, which keeps track of which users in the contact store are online, and presents the information in the launchbar.

Win 7 Shortcuts!

Alt+P

In Windows Explorer, activate an additional file preview pane to the right side of the window with this new shortcut. This panel is great for previewing images in your photos directory.

Windows + + (plus key)
Windows + - (minus key)

Pressing the Windows and plus or minus keys activates the Magnifier, which lets you zoom in on the entire desktop or open a rectangular magnifying lens to zoom in and out of parts of your screen. You can customize the Magnifier options to follow your mouse pointer or keyboard cursor. Keep in mind that so far, the Magnifier only works when Aero desktop is enabled.

Windows + Up
Windows + Down

If a window is not maximized, pressing Windows + Up will fill it to your screen. Windows + Down will minimize that active window. Unfortunately, pressing Windows + Up again while a window is minimized won’t return it to its former state.

Windows + Left
Windows + Right

One of the new features of Windows 7 is the ability to automatically make a window fill up half of your screen by dragging to the left or right. This pair of shortcuts performs the same function without your mouse. Once a window is fixed to one side of the screen, you can repeat the shortcut to flip it to the other side. This is useful if you’re extending a desktop across multiple monitors, which prevents you from executing this trick with a mouse

Windows + Home

This shortcut performs a similar function to hovering over a window’s peek menu thumbnail in the Taskbar. The active window will stay on your desktop while every other open application is minimized. Pressing this shortcut again will restore all the other windows.

Windows + E

Automatically opens up a new Explorer window to show your Libraries folder.

Windows + T

Like Alt + Tab (still our all time favorite Windows specific shortcut), Windows + T cycles through your open programs via the Taskbar’s peek menu.

Ctrl + Shift + Click

Hold down Ctrl and Shift while launching an application from the Taskbar or start menu to launch it with full administrative rights.

few of the countries but now it's been expanded in Nepal as well.

RSS, (simply known as Rich Site Summay(first version)), is a family web feed format. It is now called Really simple Syndication().

it is simply used to publish frequently updated works such as blogs, news, entries, audio, in a standardized format.

RSS 2.0.1 has the internal version number 2.0. RSS 2.0.1 was proclaimed to be "frozen", but still updated shortly after release without changing the version number. RSS now stood for Really Simple Syndication. The major change in this version is an explicit extension mechanism using XML namespaces.[20]

A standardized XML file format allows the information to be published once and viewed by many different programs. The user subscribes to a feed by entering into the reader the feed's URI – often referred to informally as a "URL" (uniform resource locator), although technically the two terms are not exactly synonymous – or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new work, downloads any updates that it finds, and provides a user interface to monitor and read the feeds.
RSS formats are specified using XML, a generic specification for the creation of data formats. Although RSS formats have evolved since March 1999,[4] the RSS icon (" ") first gained widespread use between 2005 and 2006.[5]
