Before windows8 my Vostro laptop had got dual boot Operating System one Windows7 Professional and the other Ubuntu11.04. Natty Narwhal. I love these both operating systems. Once I saw the updates of Windows8 on my twitter timeline about the Metro UI concepts and got the video of that too. I downloaded and watched the video and I was really impressed by the Metro UI concept. I was little familiar with Metro UI at Microsoft Media Center but it was too heavy. Then I got lots of updates about Windows8 on my twitter timeline as well as I got subscribed to Microsft's you tube account. I was just waiting for the release of beta version of Windows8. Few days ago Windows8 got released too. I was unable to grab a copy of Windows Developers Preview's iso very soon due to my projects of my computer club. I will be explaining you what project I had done on next blog post. You gonna love that blog post too. Don't missed it.
Few days later of the release of Windows Developers Preview of Windows8, there was blogging training at MICNepal. So I got time to go MICNepal for the blogging training as well as to get iso of Windows8. My dear friend Sani Kumar Pathak provided me the Windows Developers Preview's iso of 32 bit and I was so happy to get that :-) After the blogging training I returned back to my home and bought a copy of blank DVD in a hurry and burned the iso on it. I transferred all my files from Desktop of Windows7 and Ubuntu11.04 to my Local Disk (F drive) and upgraded my WIndows7 to Windows8. Now my old Vostro machine had got the new life. Here are some of the features I love about Windows8:
- New user interface – METRO UI
- Boot in 8 Sec- Hybrid Boot
- Native support ISO mounting
- Windows 8 Explorer – with new interface
- Picture Password
- Internet Explorer10
- Cloud Synchronization in Windows 8
- Windows8 Apps Store
All these 8 features is really gave a new life to my Old Dell Vostro. Now I am just testing all the features of Windows8. I am proud to be the beta tester of Windows8. And I am loving it with so crazy. I had distributed the iso to many of my friends too. At my college I was so excited to demonstrate the features of Windows8 to my Classmates, Juniors and Seniors. Most of them took the iso in their thumb drive.
Since its just beta release of Windows8 I could see some fixes to be done with Windows8:
- My Vostro these days freezes several times.
- Tweet@rama doesn't work properly
There may be other fixes to be done. But these two is the major problem I got in my Vostro machine with Windows8. Hope the fixes will be done very soon. As a whole I am loving loving Windows8 very much and just waiting for the final release of it.
