History
It was the time when Microsoft Student Partners (MSP) meetings were running and in one of the meetings in MSP2010 year, they heard something about Imagine Cup. As soon as they heard this , one of the team members started searching on internet and while chatting with friends they came to known that they individually were looking for Imagine Cup on internet to get some ideas and eventually started thinking of adding team members. Then, followed by meetings and chats, a team was registered “Team Nepal”. In the mean time, a national level software competition was organized in which members of team Nepal participated individually. After exploring the ideas of national level software competition Multipoint challenge, the decided to make a project based on Education sector and the application was named Digशिक्षा . They made sure of fulfilling requirements of United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Then they did a lot of research and hard works. They talked to schools in remote school areas in Lalitpur sub-metropolitan city,Nepal. They used to visit 5 to 6 times each school and sometimes even more. They researched, surveyed, implemented and lot more to make their ideas work into action. They completed the project but due to some technical problems they were not selected to compete for imagine cup 2010 Poland.

With the arrival of new team member , team Nepal calls itself now Team Nepal 2.0 .
Team Nepal started again fresh for Imagine Cup 2011. They choose Health sector this time as a challenge to solve world’s toughest problems through power of technology i.e, through their software. Since the team members are of different colleges, they believe different ideas flourished at Team Nepal 2.0. Their software is basically a decision support system through which they tried to solve Health issues at community level. Health is a precious gift to human life as we all know , so they believe this software will be helpful to rural and remote areas .
Imagine Cup 2011
Imagine cup is an annual technology competition organized by Microsoft Corporation. Students around the globe put their heart and soul in this competition. This year Imagine Cup 2011 theme is “ imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems” . So, keeping this theme in mind, students from around the globe put their effort in developing a solution. A solution that helps in making this world a better place to live, to create , to design , to contribute and all of this through using power of technology.
The competitions in which students can compete are software design, embedded development, game design, digital media, windows phone 7, IT challenge. An important thing to remember is that the software must be designed on .NET Framework using visual studio or lets just say the software must be made using Microsoft Product.
