In this guide I will show you step by step a very easy way how to create a secure password protected folder in windows 7. You might want to store secret / private files in here that you don’t want anyone else to access. The best thing about this guide is that you don’t need any 3rd party software to do this.
Steps To : How To Create A Password Protected Folder In Windows 7
-Create a folder and give it any name you wish. Double click on the folder and then right click and select “New” > “Text Document” Now rename this file to password.bat and make sure the file extension is .bat and not .bat.txt. Now open the file and copy the below text and then paste it in to the file.
Quote:
cls
@ECHO OFF
title Folder Private
if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK
if NOT EXIST Private goto MDLOCKER
:CONFIRM
echo Are you sure you want to lock the folder(Y/N)
set/p "cho=>"
if %cho%==Y goto LOCK
if %cho%==y goto LOCK
if %cho%==n goto END
if %cho%==N goto END
echo Invalid choice.
goto CONFIRM
:LOCK
ren Private "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
echo Folder locked
goto End
:UNLOCK
echo Enter password to unlock folder
set/p "pass=>"
if NOT %pass%== ENTER YOUR PASSWORD HERE goto FAIL
attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Private
echo Folder Unlocked successfully
goto End
:FAIL
echo Invalid password
goto end
:MDLOCKER
md Private
echo Private created successfully
goto End
:End
Now replace the text ENTER YOUR PASSWORD HERE with a password of your choice. Make sure you don’t forget the password.
-Now double click on the password.bat file and this will create a Private folder. Now copy and paste the files you wish to keep private in to this private folder.
-When you have finished copying the files go back to the password.bat file and double click on it again. You will get prompted. “Are You Sure You Want To Lock The Folder Y/N” Type Y and hit enter. The folder will now disappear. I recommend moving the Password.bat file to someone else on your computer.
-If you want your folder to re-appear move the Password.bat file back in to the folder you created the folder in and double click on the Password.bat file, enter your password and hit enter, your folder will now re-apear.
Warning : How To Create A Password Protected Folder In Windows 7
This script is a very basic script to work out how it works and how to get around it. I would say 80% of IT trained staff will be able to hack this password protected folder, This is why I recommended to move the password.bat file after you have secured your folder.
Fusion4D is an innovative 3D user interface that lets users interact with 3D objects as if the objects were in their hands, allowing them to move, rotate and scale the objects, explode them into its parts, and even navigate in time to see what the objects will look like in the past and future.
Fusion4D is simple to use: the user only has to wear the 3D glasses and use speech commands and hand gestures to manipulate the objects. Besides that, the system uses low cost devices, such as Kinect, and it doesn't require special displays for the 3D images.
The interface was created for Project VIDA – Virtual Interactive Distance Learning on Anatomy, which is developed by Interlab-USP in collaboration with LApIS at EACH/USP and LPAI/Senac.
How it works
Fusion4D uses 3D images and a Kinect device to capture the user's skeleton and voice. Therefore, to interact with the system, all you need to do is wear a pair of glasses and start interacting as if the object were in the real world.
The user interacts with the system using speech commands in English. Those commands allow users to select the object and manipulation mode.
Commands:
The "grab" command selects the object and allows users to translate, rotate or scale the object with their hands until the object is released with the "release" command.
The "explode" keyword allows the user to observe the 3D model in details; the "show label" command shows a descriptive label of the objects in the screen, and the "change model" command lets the user to select other models.
Finally, the "time" command allows users to see what the object would look like in the past and future by moving their hands on the timeline. If the user needs help, the "help" keyword shows a list of voice commands.
This week's theme is going to be very loosely based on "Presentations." Today we present a inspirational project that merges the Kinect's 3D gesture recognition with 3D models... (I know, I know, it's a stretch but Roberto emailed us about this project and we give suggestions from the community a much higher posting priority.)

It is a device that combines a RGB camera (2), depth (1 and 3) sensor and an array of microphones at the bottom. The camera RGB is for the recognition of the three basic colors and is what gives us images, lRGB camera has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels which not yet allows it to detect fingers, but we hope that in future versions of increase this resolution and we have many more possibilities. El depth sensor that allows to see a room in 3D, emits infrared rays which marks deep lines, this allows to calculate the time it takes to bounce the light beam and return to the device to calculate the distance to the identified object. The array of microphones detects voices and isolated them from ambient noise, the array is synchronized with the console to remove the sound of the games.

One can literally charge an iPod or any other mp3 player using an ONION which we use daily for cooking. Any media player charged with this method can store at least 20 minutes of charge.
Don't you believe??
here's how:
Watch the following video and you shall be enlightened.
Standard DVD players are part of your own home theater system. You will not always find quality DVD players when go to the store and try to check out the ones on display. So before you buy whatever you see, check out these 10 standard DVD players of 2011:
1) Toshiba SD7300

Pros: The best feature that you can avail with this player is that it only operates on six watts making it consume less electricity. It has parental control options for protection. With the presence of an SD card slot, you will be able to insert the memory card and play the media files without having to burn them on a disc.
Cons: Even with the parental control, you will not be able to block all movies with the same ratings.
2) Sony DVP-SR500H
Pros: You can upconvert the movies and not worry about what the last scene you saw beore you stopped the player. With the low power consumption rating, you can worry less about the bills. Other features include Fast-forward/Slow-mo option and Parental Control. Although a USB port and an SD card slot is not available, it is compensated by a wide variety of media options.
Cons: There is no USB port or an SD card slot.
3) Philips DVP3560/F7

Pros: One feature that you will find useful for this player is that you have the option to switch from DVD mode to USB mode and vice versa. You will also worry less about which movie to filter since the device automatically filters the movies with PG-13 ratings and higher. The absence of the SD card is compensated by the wide range of compatible media options.
Cons: Although there is a parental control, it only works if the rating is burned into the disc. It is advisable that you should check it on your own before letting the kids watch it. Don’t be fooled by the small size because its weight is on the heavier side. There are also two buttons present on the device: one for stopping and ejecting while the other one is for playing and pausing. In short, you are pretty dependent on your remote.
4) Samsung DVD-H1080

Pros: Together with the unconventional design, it also has the feature of remembering the last scene before you stopped watching. It also operates on 8 watts so you can worry less about the added energy consumption. It has a USB port so you can watch movies without burning them on the CD.
Cons: The unconventional design might be stylish this may become a problem for some who are fashion-sensitive with their things. Even if the size is smaller than the usual but it is also heavier than the usual.
5) Coby DVD298
Pros: It has the ability to upscale your outdate and your lower-resolution DVDs. With the presence of a USB port and an SD card slot, you will be able to view movies without having to burn them in a CD.
Cons: The worst thing that could happen is for you to lose the remote because if you do, the feature of the USD port and the SD card slot will be useless. It is useless because you cannot navigate them anymore. This is larger and heavier compared to the other competitors and the navigation for USB menu is a bit haphazard.
6) Panasonic DVD-S68
Pros: It has USB and SD card so you don’t have to bother burning the movies with the ability to upconvert and do progressive scanning. You can also play different multimedia options for this DVD player.
Cons: It consumes more energy because of the 12-watt power requirement. The device lacks parental controls so you need to watch out for what the youngsters will watch.
7) Pioneer DV-220V-k

Pros: This player has the bookmark feature so that you will be able to watch the movies that you wanted. It has good upconverting ability since it can upconvert up to 1080p HD. You will also enjoy Photo+Music Mix not only with the CDs but also directly from the flash drive. The audio quality is Dolby Digital and Virtual Surround giving you a cinematic experience. It also has an equalizer so that you can mix and match the audio files that you are playing.
Cons: It has heavy consumption on electricity so you are guaranteed to have a bit of an increase in your bills. Major drawback for this product is that there is no customer support that you can talk to or do live chat with them. You can only check out the FAQs and ask assistance from tech-support through email.
8 ) Magnavox MDV3000
Pros: The player only uses 8 watts of power it is not much of a strain in your bills. It is compatible with Dolby Digital sound for cinematic experience. You also have the control for fast-forwarding and slowing the motion of the scenes.
Cons: Major drawback is that it lacks compatibility with other specialty disc types like dual-player DVDs and VCDs. Although this is thicker than other players, it is not very wide or very long.
9) Dynex DX-UPDVD2
Pros: This player is able to upconvert DVDs up to near HD quality. It has an output of optical digital audio. This means that you will hear quality audio.
Cons: Although the player can upconvert DVDs, you need to have an HDTV connection via HDMI cable. It will consume more energy and can seriously add up to your electric bills. There is no slot for a USB or for an SD card so you have to transfer the movies that you would want to see to a DVD and there is no S-video connection at the back. Finally, the 90-day warranty is quite short compared to other competitors.
10) RCA DRC300iH
Pros: It is an upscale of the standard DVD player because of its HDMI connectivity. It has an iPod dock which makes this player stand out. The dock can also charge your iPod while being connected.
Cons: The device is bulkier and heavier compared to its competitors. There is no USB or SD card slot anywhere on the device. In order for you to use the iPod dock, you must have a iPod. Lastly, it does not have parental controls so the young ones are not protected form watching unwanted movies.
Never ever sacrifice the quality of the device with the fact that that is the one you can see right away. Always try to look for those that will satisfy your budget and at the same time satisfy your entertainment needs.
So these are the top 10 standard DVD players of the past year 2011.
I've been favoring this open-source media player VLC Media Player on most of my concerned blog posts. And, I know most of you guys been using this media player as your favorite one.

According to German Federal Agency for Security in Information Technology(BSI), a security hole has been discovered in the VLC Media player.
Problem:
Attackers can exploit this vulnerability using rigged Real Media files (file ending with 'rm') to install malicious software onto the user's computer. The victim has just to open the manipulated multimedia file.
Which version of VLC Media Player is affected???
VLC Media Player versions prior to release 0.9.8 are affected, BSI reports. The software maker has fixed the problem for Version 0.9.8, but to date has only made the source code available.
Solution:
All VLC Media Player users are advised to remove the file libreal_plugin.* manually from the VLC plug-in installation directory.
Or
Download the latest VLC media Player to be on safe side(That's what I did too).
I still advocate for this wonderful open-source media player called VLC Media Player. It's extremely lightweight and robust.
This was the incident of couple of weeks ago, I came across a client who wanted to have her own business site and her personalized web mail to be come up as soon as she double-clicks her browser. It was to start two home pages at once in Firefox.
I never had to deal with it. And, after fiddling a bit, using the common sense while sending mails, I tried ';' or ':' as soon as after one home page is typed in. Didn't work. Then, I tried for this separator key '|' which is just above the slash key living in unity or say above the ENTER key. That worked. What else, on the homepage setting menu, I first typed in those homepages like this.. for eg: firsthomepage.com|Secondhomepage.com and hit OK. She was happy.
Okay, here is how we do it in FIREFOX and Internet Explorer.
I know you guys know how to change the internet settings in browsers. It's slightly different in Firefox than in Internet Explorer but that shouldn't cause anyone much problem.
In FIREFOX, go to Tools->Options
You'll see something like this below(I've set here 3 pages to start simultaneously as soon as I hit that FIREFOX icon on my desktop):
In Internet Explorer(precisely in IE7), go to Tools->Internet Options
And you'll see something like this below.
NOTE: In IE7, you don't need to type that separate '|' key. Just hit the Enter key once you're done with the first homepage and so. Finally click hit OK button.
That's it. You're all done. Now, you've multiple pages coming up at once. Be warned, though, it'll consume your PCs memory or may be you might end up thinking why your Browser is loading slow than before if you are trying to fire up 10 sites at once.
Just in case, if you are suffering from IE7's welcome page or popularly known as RUNONCE annoyance, you wouldn't be seeing any of the effects that I've shown you here in above paragraphs. How to get rid of that thing(I've heard that IE8 does have option to disable this though, good job Microsoft.)
Normally what happens is when you first install your IE7, you'll be presented with screen like above. What the heck, there is no homepage set for this page on Internet Options menu either. So, How do I get rid of this page coming up on and on(There is always an another way for things to do).
(From what I've learned, usually we are to tamper only with the USER section of 5 registry KEY HIVES. This will cause changes on for that user, not for other user on the system)
Follow your registry key(Start->Run->RegEdit) like below:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
and create new Dword values:
RunOnceHasShown
RunOnceComplete
Set it's values to 1.
Or If you don't want to go through this hassle, download this registry update
Save it, Run it and when asked, click OK-OK.
You might wanna restart your computer after this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But there is a geeky way to restart your system without restarting your computer. I do this all the time but if you are not that adventurous, just restart the computer. There is nothing to read below this.
Actually, there is a very important thing to read here(Just kidding ;):
-Launch your Windows Task Manager (Press Ctrl+Shift+ESC at once)
-End process called Explorer.exe
-Give it a moment to restart everything, all it's dependencies, once thing became silent. From the same Task Manager, Click File->New Task and type in "explorer.exe"
These are the required procedures.
To stay safe in a computer virus world, there are several steps to take. First, be careful with all emails. If you use Outlook or Outlook Express, turn off the scripting feature. Make sure that anti virus software checks all of you incoming and outgoing emails, and don’t open an email with attachments unless you know for sure who sent it to you and why. It is always better to be safe than sorry, so if in doubt, don’t open the attachment. Viruses and worms will attach themselves to your address book and replicate themselves by sending copies of themselves to everyone you know and commonly email, and they won’t know not to open it because it will look as though it comes from you.
Next, keep the anti virus software up-to-date. There are many good programs out there to stop viruses. NOD32,AVG and others work well. But, you need to keep them up-to-date. Most anti virus programs allow you to go to their web site and download updates on a regular basis. Some of them in fact can even be set to do the downloading and updating for you automatically on a regular basis. Updates will keep you away from evolving new viruses. So be sure to update.
Use a router for safety’s sake. A router will block your IP address and prevent many viruses from reaching you or any other computers on your network. This will work very well if you are on a cable modem or DSL, but is also useful for those who are on dial up. Routers are feasible price-wise and some latest routers come built-in with firewalls.
Switch to software that is not as commonly used. Microsoft makes great products and is in common use, but Microsoft is also the biggest target out there for hackers. Also, if you switch to another browser, Netscape Navigator or Firefox for example, you will avoid some virus problems. Switching from Outlook to something like Thunderbird or Calypso for your email or using web based email like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail from Microsoft, which keeps the email storage away from your computer and also includes virus checking software is worth considering. There are many good email programs out there and many good browsers. Try several and see which you are most comfortable with.
Next use a firewall. There are many good firewalls out there. Windows XP comes with a built in firewall. Comodo Firewall has a free version. Other good firewalls are available at reasonable costs and many have thirty day free trials so you can check one out and see if it works well for you. A firewall can be your first line of defense against computer viruses. Install one, especially if you have broadband, like T1, cable or DSL access to the Internet. Going on the Internet without a firewall is like walking into combat without a Kevlar helmet and a flak vest to protect your self.
Next, backup everything you do. Get yourself a CD or DVD burner if you don’t have one already, or a portable external hard drive(mine is Seagate's Freeagent 500 Gig). Get in the habit of backing your system up on a regular basis so that, if you are hit by a virus, your data is not permanently lost. You’ll have a good backup copy of it handy and ready to reinstall. You can keep your files on online storage services if you need them so frequent from different places and download them without fearing any sort of deletion.
Finally, here’s the bonus tip of the day. Use common sense. Think when you surf. If you don’t know someone, be leery of accepting the files they might want to transfer to you. If you want to download software from a site make sure that the site has proper security protocol. Read the instructions. Don’t just automatically click from reflex. The brain you have is much smarter than your computer, but you have to use it properly. Use your brain, use your common sense and think.
Stay safe and happy net surfing.
Netbook craze is growing. The only problem as they think is the absence of the optical drive. If harddrive fails, normal user has a very hard time re-loading operating system on it. This article is the alternative to buying external Optical drive. Instead, installing brand new Operating System off of a Pen drive is what this post is all about.
What do you need?
1. First of all, you'll need a PC with CD/ROM.
2. Windows CD/DVD
3. At least, 2 GB pen drive, but I recommend Kingston DataTraveler I - 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DTI/4GB
4. Download 'WinToFlash'.
Back to work:
1. Open up the program, then click the 'Windows Setup Transfer Wizard' and click 'Next'.

2. Input the Windows CD/DVD location on 'Windows File Path' and point the location of USB pen drive on 'USB drive'.

3. Click Next, Accept the 'License Agreement', Click 'Ok' or whatever comes accept it.
4. A warning message will pop up confirming complete wipeout of the pen drive's old data. Simply accept that.
That's it. Takes some time and whole windows will be on your new bootable USB pen drive.
Next up, upgrade your netbook hard drive, set bootable device to USB from within the bios, insert your Windows Bootable pen drive and reload the new OS onto it without spending a buck on extra optical drive.
So many people still spend hundreds of words in emails trying to find meaning of the chat/online/net etiquettes that we netizens use often. Some similar incident happened to me lately. Someone in this universe of internet, whom I met online, came to me first asking about the words that I posted online, of course somewhere online. It was just regular online etiquette and believe me, it was so stupid to continue arguments with such people. That's how I realized after several exchange of conversations. Finally, that someone somehow admitted ignorance about these terms and showed some interest to learn . I would've taken it positively if that someone would have shown some interest to learn but instead kept arguing with me and that really pissed me off.
Posting same ages old etiquette which I believe should be learned by every net surfer or everyone who is reading these words online. Just to escape from being lost, you can give it a try.

Microsoft has unveiled the Arc Touch Mouse. It's artistic, it's fantastic, it's ultra-modern and it's unconventional. The Arc Touch Mouse forms itself from flat to curved shape and ergonomic to every hand. It can be used on any surface. It has 2.4 GHz Nano transceiver and Microsoft BlueTrack technology for wireless setup. Flexibility in shape is what makes this mouse unique from others. It's therefore extremely portable too.

Microsoft obviously tried to retain the effect – using haptic feedback to make little vibrations and a little speaker to make little clicks, all to simulate the feel of a mouse wheel.
A single charge on 2 AAA battries would last six months. As of right now, this Arc Touch Mouse is available as pre-order and special pre-order rate is $69.95 on major online retailers like Amazon.com. Expected shipping is on December of 2010 and price gonna go up next year if you missed the pre-order.
