LOOKING BACK TO THE HISTORY OF MICROSOFT SWAABHIMAAN
Many of the visitors may not even know that Microsoft Swaabhimaan is an annual event by Microsoft that has already created a half decade long history in Nepal.
For the first time, Microsoft Swaabhimaan was held at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu in 2005.In 2006, Microsoft organized Microsoft Swaabhimaan at Birendra International Convention Center (BICC), at New Baneswore, the venue which is now completely occupied by Constituent Assembly (CA) for holding CA sessions to build the constitution of new Nepal. Then next year, that is 2007, Yak & Yeti and Shankar hotel became Microsoft Swaabhimaan's new venue. And, then this year 2009 , Microsoft Swaabhimaan has come up in the venue where we have stepped in now, yes exactly here in Direction Exhibition & Convention Center, UWTC, Tripureswore, Kathmandu.
Definitely, in this long run, Microsoft Swaabhimaan has clearly trailed a path in uplifting Nepalese ICT society now. As said by Mr. Subodh Sudhakar Rijal, Co-ordinator of the Conference, Microsoft Swaabhimaan, unlike in previous years, this years' event will mainly focus on facilitating the government's master plan for e-governance and ICT sector of the country.
