I think this link you provide you guys enough information how to protect the Privacy in internet.
http://www.microsoft.com/protect/privacy/prevent.aspx

The first point says:
"First, read the Web site's privacy policy Privacy policies should clearly explain what data the Web site gathers about you, how it is used, shared, and secured, and how you can edit or delete it. (For example, look at the bottom of this and every page on Microsoft.com.) No privacy statement? Take your business elsewhere."
Before I registered to msdnnepal.net, I read the privacy policy (same of M$). It never said something like "we have the rights to reveal your identity when we want to or use it to have our staffs add you in facebook". However, my last name was revealed by Mr. Allen B. Tuladhar in the same forum and I got friend invitations from administrator Gandip Khaling saying that he found my info on msdnnepal.net. So can we trust the privacy policies in the first place? Now, the thread where my name was revealed has been removed for good, but it stayed there for a few days before they did so.
3 Rs for Ultimate Windows Troubleshooting: Reboot, Restore and Reformat
Nothing personal unbuntu. Is adding a friend in facebook is crime? I think facebook was made for that purpose only. You may not know them personaly but you will interact in Social Network. We did not use your Technet Identity to find you facebook buddy.
This portal in intented to talk about technology and the context is everyone colaborate with each other. But your posting intention show that you come here post against Microsoft and Allen B. Tuladhar. Post irrelevant link, commenting on Grammatical error. Silent is not a weakness Ubuntu . So respect other and focus on topic do not set unecessary example. If you do not like to stay here then you are always welcome to go.
Cheers,
Gandip
Don’t be idiot by arguing with an idiot .
No, adding a friend in Facebook is not a crime. But since you said that you got to know me from my posts here, I was wondering how you knew my name without using the required information I used to register here in the forum. I did not make the information public, so you should have respected my privacy. I know what facebook is for. It is certainly not about nagging people who don't know you. There are other places for that. And since you mentioned: "We did not use your Technet Identity to find you facebook buddy.", could you please elaborate answering the following questions:Who does "we" represent? What means did you use to find out that I was the same person in MSDNNepal/TechNetNepal and FB without using my information here at these forums?I have no intentions to post about or against any person here. You have seen my posts and if they have gotten any personal then it is only as a reaction, and if that was someone else outside of the admin/mod group, I would have ignored that completely. And I don't know a forum where we don't get to correct each other if someone is posting wrong. Thats what I have learned from forums/portals. But since you guyz take everything personally, you won't get it. However, I would humbly request you and other forumers to kindly correct me when I'm wrong. That really helps me grow.BTW, I find "welcome to go" kinda inappropriate, but whatever. It is not easy to advertise a product when viable alternatives exist at no or very affordable costs in an economically weak situation in an economically backward country without using misinformation (in the name of information in front of the uneducated) and covert techniques. I humbly request you to stop what you are doing and help our poor country grow rather than help a rich foreign organization get richer.Regardsubuntubay
@gandip
Hope this view of yours hasn't changed. But I'd like to know how.
I'd also like to comment on this: You said: "This portal in intented to talk about technology and the context is everyone colaborate with each other. But your posting intention show that you come here post against Microsoft and Allen B. Tuladhar."
First things first, why in the world should I not post against Micro$oft? It is evil for the world (luckily Europe and the USA know about it and have fined M$ in various cases and made them stop what they were doing) but it continues to do bad things in other parts of the world coz there are no good laws to stop them. I am trying to collaborate with each one of you who are willing to, in order to help our nation.
About Mr. Allen B. Tuladhar, I don't have anything personal against him. I don't know him personally. The only way I know him is because I have attended several of his presentations. He is a fabulous presenter and has outstanding personality. I like the way he puts things up and explains to his listeners. I also came to know in one of his presentations that he has created the famous Typeshala, which was awesome product of its kind during the days of its release. Now, since I have no interest in any of his other activities and never wish to use any information regarding his personal life, I have not wasted my valuable time doing further research about him. I had the chance of interacting with him in msdnnepal.net and you too know about that. That said, I don't see how I have posted anything about him personally like you have been alleging. However, it is sad to see such a great personality wasting his time and efforts advertising for Microsoft, while he could be concentrating on other things he does so much better.
Also, I'd like to comment on this: You said: "Post irrelevant link":Let me help you memorize when I did this. It was you when you tried to prove your offtopic point and provided me a URL regarding how some new linux users boast about the linux and start flame wars or similar. I then posted on the blog you referred to and gave you the same link as an answer. Then you warned me for posting irrelevant link. LOL. It is humorous to see you bring back the topic after having deleted the topic altogether.
You said: "So respect other and focus on topic do not set unecessary example."You are doing the same while preaching the same. You could have easily conveyed this via other routes, but you chose this. I am merely replying to you. Please realize.

getting back to the original topic:I don't know how M$ is actually giving users instructions about how to protect their privacy, while M$ is actually invading user's privacy. Here is a link that explains how M$ is helping spy organizations themselves.
http://boycottnovell.com/2010/01/27/gaining-private-access/http://boycottnovell.com/2009/12/16/decaf-vs-msft-spying/
Hypocrites.
Here are some extracts from those articles for the lazy ones:
"Is it not hysterical that Microsoft pretends that it cares about privacy? Microsoft remains a great threat to democracy. Unlike Google, Microsoft does not ask if you are willing to be spied on and there is no option to opt out, either. This spyware/malware is already preinstalled on most new computers. It’s ‘baked into’ Windows."
"Microsoft loves to accuse Google of privacy issues and other perceived issues (Bill Gates is apparently doing a special media tour about it) while praying that people will not realise that Microsoft is far, far worse. Microsoft even tracks people on their own desktops and it gets worse and worse in every new version of Windows (soon to be in Ubuntu too, unless they walk away from that tactless Yahoo! deal which has new GNU/Linux installations ‘phone home’ to Microsoft). We explained the dangers of this last month."
"It gets worse. They are learning people’s habits and together with ID information, bank accounts, and even health records, what can’t Microsoft do? This abuse of power is done with the company that helped Microsoft fight against OLPC (because it used GNU/Linux and AMD chips)."
So, here is how Microsoft Protects privacy:
